The first rule that you should know about perfumes and fragrances is how to buy the one that suits you well. Thus, it is important that you test the scent of the perfumes or fragrances before you actually buy them.

Most of the time, stores that sell perfumes make sample products available for customers to test. Using these sample products, you can try smelling the scent of the perfumes you consider buying and find the one that suits your own personal taste. Sample products can either be an already opened perfume bottle that you can spray on to you or a paper tester that is usually given out for people to have an experience of the actual perfume. When testing a perfume, it is good to test it both on your skin and on some fabric that you have so you will be able to know how the perfume will smell on both.

When applying perfume, you should avoid applying too much on the clothes that you wear because some perfumes can leave a permanent stain which can ruin your clothing. You can opt to put more perfume on your skin rather than on your clothes or if you are sure that the perfume you bought does not leave any stain then you can probably wear it on your clothes too.
